Do a better Break shot (8-Ball) Submitted by Zero3 - Cam (Zero3)
This is one of the shot that can be crucial in all pool/billiard games, the break shot. The way that I have done and still use for 8-ball pool for years is to shoot the cue ball (to me, since I a a righty) between the 1 ball and 3 ball, that is if it was set up like I have shown. I have not yet tested this yet on 9-ball or any other format of pool/billiards, but if this does work on other formats, leave me a comment on the name of the format and how it was done, in your own words.

Re: Do a better Break shot ) by Anonymous on Thu, Jan 8, 2004 @ 11:03:54 CST | | I think you have the right idea but you must add one thing. you must just miss the head ball (1 ball in this case) and hit the 3 ball with Low inside english so if your hitting from the right you would put low left on it this will prevent pocketing the cue ball in the corner pocket. The eight ball should kick out toward the left side pocket. Thats how to hit an eight ball break... furthermore if your up to the task you can also hit the 3rd ball in the rack, just missing the second ball with low english not only breaks the balls up very nicely but also throws the eight ball toward that same side pocket. they are both good breaks i think you will make more 8 balls with the second ball break but you will lose controll of the cue ball a lot easier and maybe hit it off the table more than the third ball. |
