Start with the diagram above. Place the object ball as shown in the diagram (the 1-ball) and the cue ball at position A. Using a draw stroke, draw the cue ball back to position A. Continue doing this until you can consistently draw the cue ball at position A. As soon as you are comfortable drawing the cue ball back to position A, draw the cue ball back farther to position B. Repeat until this becomes easier then move on to the next difficulty level - drawing the cue ball back to position C.

Continue with the drill until you are able to draw the cue ball to position F as shown in the diagram. Only with enough hours of practice will you be able to learn how low you need to hit the cue ball and how firm your stroke needs to be to control the amount of draw on the cue ball.
