David Tice custom cues( View reviewed item ) I have just received my custom cue from David Tice about a month ago, I have waited for a month to give this review because when you
first get a new cue you may think it is great but after shooting with it for a while you may have a different opinion. I guess the first thing you have to do when deciding to take the plung and go for a custom
cue is to get to know the cue maker, will he listen to your ideas? Is he
going to build his cue or yours? So many questions, I talked with David on the phone and by E-mail many times before starting the cue,
you will not find a nicer, more knoweldgable, and thourgh guy than David. I saw some of his work on e-bay one time (the seller took the
cue off right before auction ended) and loved what I saw. With no cue
to bid on I called David and we talked about building one for me. He
helped with choice of woods and everything technical that I could spend an hour writing about. He sent me pictures of the raw woods for
my approval, this was really going to be my cue! He sent pictures of all
the stages of the build,we were doing some Ablone inlays, I thougt
putting them in all the points and the rack of nine balls would be to
much but thank God I listened to David, this is one of the most beautiful cues I have seen made by anyone anywhere! I looked at
Skip Weston,Phillipi,Paul Mottey,Mike Capone,Chris Nitti,and just about
everyone else under the sun and If I could trade this cue for another I
wouldn't trade no matter how much the other cue was worth. The hit,
balance,weight ,leather wrap(you really have to look to see the seam and it is smooth leather)is second to none.After having this cue built I
believe I have made a freind,I don't think I could have had a better
experience, so If your in the market for a true piece of art that hits like
a dream give David Tice a call,the only problem you'll have is the same one I have, when you miss a shot you won't be able to blame it
on the cue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
