I order this cue Meucci 97-10 from this vendor in Hannibal NY, it I wasn't cheap. I was the worst business transaction nightmare I pool enthusiast could have been caught in. First of all, they guy never provided me with a tracking number, I had to email them and ask for the status. Then they told me that they had to have it shipped from Meucci Original and that they'll get back to me with the tracking. So I waited.
Ordered it Sunday night, and paid the 3 day shipping charges. I never heard from again. Its now Monday, a week and one day from the date I placed the order. My worst fear, the delivery person left the packaged outside and its freezing here in Rochester NY during the Winter. I was so worried that the shaft would warp. So I opened the packaged, happy that I got the cue.
As soon as I open the package I saw the shaft, looked fine, but it looks like crap. I know cue and a $352 cue dont'have shaft looking like a K-Mart cue. Took it out of the bags. the grain was crappy, and it feels like they went to K-Mart and got the shaft from there. Ran my finger through the pharrel and felt several bumps. So I looked closer, there were some rigdes. At this point I was sad and furious that I got charged $390 with tax for a firewood. Upon closer inspection, I saw a whole about 4 inches from the tip of the shaft. It looks as if someone had took a small nail and put a needle size whole about 2 mm deep on the shaft. At that point I know I did not even want to touch the cue. Looking at the thread on the shaft where it connect to the butt, there seem to be some sloppy work when they but the female thread onto the shaft. I didn't even bother to put it together. I just repacked the cue and call the place where the cue was shipped from.
Talk to a lady which had her name on the return address. She was no help, have no clue of what I was talking about. She told me to call the vendor which I placed the order with. Called them. Talk to a guy in the store. He was pretty nice, but kinda being a pain hearing that I want to return a $390 purchase. Says he will charge me a restocking fee of 10%.
So I went to the US post office. Cost me only $4 and change to shipped back with tracking, and will there in two days.
So people, what do you think of the situation? Was that a shady business (Shooter's Biiliards) or was Meucci selling a knock-off? Plus they had terrible customer service.
From now on I'm boycotting Meucci and telling every pool player I know that Meucci is not as high quality as they claim. Feedback and comment are welcome.

The customer service he received from them I cannot answer for. However, he contacted us and we offered to replace the cue or give a refund as per our company policy.I would advise those with hasty responses to this customers experience with us,''re-read'' what he has stated and take note the cue was shipped ''directly'' from Meucci.

I am a regular customer from ShootersBilliards and their service has been always awesome. As you said the cue was drop shipped by Meucci and they should be the ones to be blammed for sending a customer defective material.

Here we don''t buy cues like that, not that i''m discouraging you, but because it''s too expensive. Here in the Philippines you can buy a world class cue for only 100 dollars and it looks greater than the expensive ones. Cues filipino champion players used before they became famous.Really cheap but really beautiful.

My cue is turning 12 years old next month and i''m proud to say that my meucii, although its finish has faded, has remained my favorite playing cue among my other cues.
i encourage you to find someone who owns an original meucci cue (prefferably one with the black dot shaft) and try it out for yourself.

then..two or three weeks later i decided to modify the original 13mm shaft to 12mm shaft. so i went back to the store.
the guy in the store (k&d billiards) said that meucci don''t charge for such modification......
2 weeks later i went to the store again, and found out that everything''s free of charge (i did not have to pay for the shipping to and from meucci). i was quite happy...for me meucci has a good customer service..
Posted by Anonymous on 2005-03-14 14:54:10 My Score: (10/10) My Comment: I''ve been using Meucci cues for 18 years. I will agree that their quatlity isn''t what it once was, but I''ll still take a Meucci over 90% of others barring custom made. But that''s personal preference. Alex got shafted (excuse the pun) by a vendor, not a manufacturer, so I wouldn''t blame Muecci. I''ve owned 2 McD''s, a couple of Vikings, a Schmelke, and still own a Schon.

I feel your despute is with Shooters after all they check the quality of all the products they sell.
I have always found the guys at Meucci to be very helpful even when they have made a mistake.
