I was hesitant at the beginning but after Stage 1, I realized it was so worth it! I have completed 3 Stages so far. (Im not an ace but thats basically my fault.) PPA has equipped me with the tools I need not just to get by or hold my own but to excel and truly play with confidence. PPA teaches you to play pool knowing the hows, the whys and the what fors.
Theres a huge difference between a learning from a pro and learning from a teaching pro. Lester Dulawan is a teaching pro with vast experience a commanding ability to express himself and a deep understanding and passion for the game. He is able to use the appropriate terms, situations, scenarios and even euphemisms to explain and instruct. He is direct and deliberate. It was so important that this PPA Instructor was able to explain things to me at MY LEVEL, not at his Pro level. This was vital in my understanding of this sport where initially inert aramith spheres collide and bounce in possibly a million different ways basically reacting to the energy YOU initiate to set them to motion. I realized it wasnt mental. It was physical. My every PPA lesson was filled with eye-openers, eye-popping results, frustration, revelations, even tears (lots and lots) and of course, fulfillment.
I would recommend PPA to anyone who has the the heart, the common sense, the open mindedness, the patience and time to learn pocket billiards. At least try the 1st Module and hopefully, like me, you will see.
